This vac hits just about every mark right on the nose for me.
PROS:
It has a ton of suction power (as long as you keep the filter relatively clean).
It has a large diameter hose that can suck up large chunks.
Well thought-out attachments. I didn't think I would, but I've used all of them for different applications, and found all to be very useful.
It is very quiet for how powerful it is.
Great carrying handle, and easy to use snap-locks to take the lid off and put it back on.
Long cord, long hose, quite portable.
Great casters, very stable.
CONS:
Just one, but it's nasty: The output blower blows with incredible force on the opposite side of the suction input. Some form of this is to be expected to a certain extent, as the air that is sucked in has to be pushed back out in some way with equal force; I've just seen other designs that manage this much better. This design pushes with equal force out of a hole equal in diameter to the input hole, horizontally out the opposite side. Like I said, the force is great. It is like a leaf-blower. This design is supposedly set up this way so that one could hook the hose up to the output hole and do things like blow leaves... but if you're not blowing leaves, you blow dust, dirt, debris, and other unwanted things out into the air to fly off and settle somewhere else. A nightmare for, say, cleaning up drywall dust after hanging, taping and sanding drywall -- by turning on the vac, you are effectively distributing all the dust on the output side out into the rest of the house.
Don't get me wrong; the suction is amazing, and what you suck up is sufficiently filtered and deposited into the base... It's just that anything that happens to be on the wrong side of the vac will be lifted up off the ground and spread off into the distance. The only way I've found to avoid this is to aim the output hole out a door and be mindful not to tug the vac in too far while cleaning. Seems like a serious nuisance to me.
Are most shop vacs designed this way? I guess I've only seen one other brand's design, which came out the top and somehow spread the "impedance" of the air so that it exited gently out of a vent that ran 360 degrees around the motor, instead of being concentrated into a tight, forceful air jet shooting out of one side.
Overall I really like the vac. It's the most powerful of any I've ever used and has really worked well for all the things I've used it for. I just have to pay close attention to where that exit port is and make sure it won't cause any problems.

Purchased this vac and a Craftsman Gutter Clean-up Kit (Sears $19.99) and cleaned the gutters on my ranch house this afternoon. I am a 5'2" 66 year old woman, and with these two items I finished the job in just over an hour!
The gutter kit contains 2 extension tubes (identical to the ones that come with the vacuum) and a candy cane shaped piece for the end which fits into the gutter. All I had to do was walk along and vacuum up the leaves, twigs, dirt, etc. SO EASY!
The pieces did NOT come apart - stayed together much more securely that my little 5 gallon Shop-Vac. It was also WHISPER QUIET compared to the Shop-Vac even with 6hp motor compared to 1.3hp on my old one.
Assembly involved putting on the wheels. The top half was very easy to put on and latch with two side latches. Nothing spewed out as it had a good seal. Cord wraps neatly around the handle.
I have been paying $40 to $50 twice a yr to have my gutters done, so this will pay for itself in no time. I have had a problem with water running over the top of my gutters in heavy rain, so today was an interim clean-up, but the container is very roomy and will hold lots when the full fall clean-up happens.
Vac rolls nicely on hard surfaces, but must be carried over grass. I was worried about the size and weight, but even at my small size it was not a problem.

Consider this... The combine cost of your tow vehicle and trailer... The combine weight of your tow vehicle and trailer... The fact that your trailer may well weigh more than your tow vehicle... And that moron that just jumped in your lane then slammed on his brakes... This is NOT the time to think to yourself, "maybe I should've gotten a better brake controller." Seriously, when the difference in cost is under $100, is it really not worth buying the best?
I've used the Tekonsha P3 for two and half years now and I have nothing but praises to sing! Features, user friendliness, and results! This unit has it all. First lets talk about the mechanism. It uses a digital G-Sensor as apposed to a physical pendulem. Why is this a benifit? Because there are no downhill issues that you see with the physical and analog type sensors. Prior to digial sensors, the downhill slope would throw off the pendulem and the brake controller either would send a weaker current to the brakes or none at all. Some people have questioned the reliablity of digital sensors. But with more than 10 years of full production digital units, complaints are actaully less than the older analog units. Consider this as well, the sensor is not only quicker but more accurate as well, hard to soft braking is much safer now. How does it work? Just like any other accelerometor...it senses the volume deceleration and then computes an appropriate voltage and current to send to the trailer brakes based on a percentage of the user's max output setting.
Let's talk interface. A four button face with a roughly 1.5" LCD display plus a belly mounted manual switch. With no brakes connected, this unit will dispay the default "Tekonsha Screen". Once brakes are connected via the trailer plug, the unit will display the "Tow Screen". It has a large two/three read out that displays 0.0 as a default. While sitting still and once brake pressure is applied it will jump to approximately 10% of the max set output, after 3 seconds of being stationary it will move up to 25% power. This is designed to "hold" the trailer if stopped on an incline or decline. Setting the max brake power is a snap with the two "Up" and "Down" buttons on the left side of the face. The value moves up and down by 0.1 increments and quite quickly if you hold the button down. The last two buttons are "boost" and "page" which I will discuss when I talk features. The last button is the manual brake override. This bottom mounted spring loaded slider switch will manually add braking power to the trailer brakes (up to the user set max) even without depressing the vehicles brake peddle. This is a standard feature on all brake contorllers, but I wanted anyone looking for their first brake controller to understand what this was. Lastly, is the warning screen. It's a deep red screen with a trailer and a "no" sign. This indicates that the controller which had previously sensed brakes connected no longer can sense them. Generally an indication of a poor trailer connection at the wiring harness or a problem with the brakes themsleves.
Let's talk features. I've mentioned the "Boost" button, but what is it? There are 4 levels of boost for trailer brakes. Off, LV. 1, LV. 2, ; LV. 3. Boost adds a brief (fraction of a second) burst to the trailer brakes which slows the trailer slightly more than the normal pressure would and keeps it from bumping or pushing the tow vehicle when brake pressure is initailly applied. Very important if as many are these days, your trailer weighs more than your tow vehicle. After the burst it returns the voltage and current to the G-sensors reccomended output. There isn't a real scientific method for figuring what you need to use. The picture on the home screen shows LV1 as small trailer, 2 as a med tailer, and 3 as a large trailer. My trailer is a 6K lb. TT and I just leave it on the default LV. 1 boost. Everytime the units is powered it returned to the default LV. 1. The unit will power down after 15 mins with no trailer connected AND no input from the brake signal wire. The "Page" button will take you to a second screen that you navigate with the "up", "down", and "Boost" (now "enter") buttons. This sceen has some cool features as some useful features. "Backlight" allows you to brighten or dim the brightness of the display. "Color" lets you set the color of the display. (Yeah I know, unessesary, but cool) The default color is "White" which is more of a light blue. There's also Magenta, Orange, Dk Blue, Violet, Lt. Green, and Dk. Green. Red is not availible as it's reserved as a warning color for the "no trailer connection" warning screen. Back to the page screen. There's also a VERY USEFUL troubleshooting screen. It lets you view diagnostics on the fly and over the road that can give you four digit readouts of battery voltage, stoplight (brake input signal) voltage, brake voltage, and brake current. This screen alone is worth the cost of this brake controller! When you first connect your tailer do some tests and record the max input you set, the output under normal braking conditions, as well as the brake voltage and amperage. If down the line you get the feeling the brakes aren't working properly, you can re-run this test and see if it's an electrical problem or not. Finally when your done, pressing the page button will return you to the "tow screen."
Installation. A snap for anyone that has a factory tow package. Tekonsha offers plug and play wiring harnesses that plug into most make and model years of trucks. If you have to have it installed or choose to install it yourself as I did, it can be challenging. But it's a simple four wire hookup. A 12V input from the battery (running thru a 30A auto reset breaker NOT a fuse), an output to the brake pin of your 6 or 7-way trailer connector, a stoplight input running to your vehicle's stoplight switch behind the brake peddle, and lastly a frame ground. The mount can be a little challenging to install because of the akward access to the screws, but it can be mounted at nearly any angle other than strait up or down and provided the face is facing a close to directly rearward as possible.
All in all, this is probably the most important review I've ever done. This controller will save you grief and keep you and your vehicle safe. Make sure for your safety, your families safety, and the safety of all those on the road you buy the brake controller that does it's job the best. Buy the Tekonsha P3.

One of the great features this product includes is monitoring the voltage of the battery. The normal volts for an automotive battery is 12 volts. On a recent trip to pick up our new camper, our voltage begin to drop like a rock! This product warned me that something was wrong with my vehicle. This product continued to monitor the voltage which dropped to about 7 volts! The problem was 2 dry-rotted wires to the alternator. If it would not have been for this product and it warning me of this problem occurring, I would have continued to drive and probably broke down in not such a desirable of a location. This products ability to monitor the vehicles voltage system allowed me to prepare myself in planning on where to get off the exit and prevented me from having to call a tow vehicle to assist with the problem that I was having!

Installation and Use

First off-- bikes go on and off in a snap. The very first time I used this rack, it probably took me less than a minute. One of the really nice features is the design of the quick-release skewer. The cam mechanism is built into the front of the tray. This has two advantages:
- The long lever means you can also have a lot of travel in the clamp. The skewer goes from being clamped down to being wide enough to remove the fork, even with "lawyer nipples," just by moving the lever. That means no fiddling with the bolt tension every time you want to put the bike on the rack--just drop it in and clamp it.
- The same lock core that locks the bike to the carrier, locks the carrier to the loadbar. Turn one key and the whole assembly is secured.
The rest of the Peloton gives a similar impression of attentive design. The strap that holds the rear wheel down is easy to attach and easy to release. I would say the only downside is the somewhat 1990s-Volvo aesthetics.

I bought two of these last year, to carry our bikes to our favorite adventure spots. The setup was straight-forward and easy, and you can tell these are well made carriers, very durable and very secure on top of your vehicle.
Securing the bike is a breeze, you only have to make minor adjustments to the front clamp for the particular size of forks on your bike, this is a allen-wrench adjustment, the wrench is included with the carrier and only takes a few turns to get properly adjusted. It was easy for me to do, and in conjunction with the rear rubber ratcheting wheel strap you can rest assured that your bike will not be going anywhere.
Overall this is one of the best options out there, really my only complaint is having to remove the front wheel on the bike to attach this, but as many people know, doing it this way makes the bike more secure.

I live in a big suburb of Columbus, Ohio, but even so, power outages keep happening, and more frequently every year. I have my own well, so no power means no water, either. Two years ago we had a 7-day outage after a huge windstorm; last year we had 2 days after a truck took out a distribution transformer station. I decided it was time to have backup. After trying several cheaper alternatives, I finally bought this generator.
Shipping took about a week. They delivered it right into my garage on a pallet. It took me half an hour to wrestle it out of the box (it's 290 lbs empty of gas!) and installed the wheel kit. I poured in oil (slightly over a quart, NOT included) and two gallons of gas. I turned the ignition switch, and it started in two seconds.
I was surprized, but pleased, to discover they included two heavy-duty plugs (L5-30P and l14-30P) which sell seperately for about $25 each. I used one of these to build an "extension cord" that I could toss through a basement window to bring power into my basement, where most of my power guzzlers reside.
I hooked up my well pump, sump pump, backup sump pump charger, two fans, a trouble light, the freezer, the refrigerator, a big fan, and my electric mower. I cranked up the generator, and turned on the power. No troubles. I ran it for two hours, and the engine idled the whole time, only revving up for a second each time the well pump started.
So, I have nothing but good impressions of this generator. I feel a lot better knowing it's out there in the garage, waiting.

My husband purchased this generator and it was delivered on November 17th. The delivery and experience with Amazon was perfect. However, 41 days after delivery (typical) a seal failed, dumping oil everywhere. My husband has used this only 10 hours. After calling the company (Powerland) and leaving a message, they have still not returned our call. There is only a 30 day warranty on this product, but a 1 year parts warranty. We are still awaiting to hear from the company about the parts replacement. This generator was $900 and I would expect that it would run longer than 40 days..Very poor product and awful customer service.
