Installation and Use
The Peloton comes practically totally assembled, requiring only the included hex wrench and your personal two hands to readily assemble in little time. First off-- bikes go on and off in a snap. The very first time I used this rack, it probably took me less than a minute. One of the really nice features is the design of the quick-release skewer. The cam mechanism is built into the front of the tray. This has two advantages:
- The long lever means you can also have a lot of travel in the clamp. The skewer goes from being clamped down to being wide enough to remove the fork, even with "lawyer nipples," just by moving the lever. That means no fiddling with the bolt tension every time you want to put the bike on the rack--just drop it in and clamp it.
- The same lock core that locks the bike to the carrier, locks the carrier to the loadbar. Turn one key and the whole assembly is secured.
The rest of the Peloton gives a similar impression of attentive design. The strap that holds the rear wheel down is easy to attach and easy to release. I would say the only downside is the somewhat 1990s-Volvo aesthetics.

I bought two of these last year, to carry our bikes to our favorite adventure spots. The setup was straight-forward and easy, and you can tell these are well made carriers, very durable and very secure on top of your vehicle.
Securing the bike is a breeze, you only have to make minor adjustments to the front clamp for the particular size of forks on your bike, this is a allen-wrench adjustment, the wrench is included with the carrier and only takes a few turns to get properly adjusted. It was easy for me to do, and in conjunction with the rear rubber ratcheting wheel strap you can rest assured that your bike will not be going anywhere.
Overall this is one of the best options out there, really my only complaint is having to remove the front wheel on the bike to attach this, but as many people know, doing it this way makes the bike more secure.
